Continuing on from last week, If you need peace afterwards in John 14:27 reads Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. In Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" Be free of bondage remember, bondage also comes from the devil as it reads in Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery. As he reads in first John four and 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. As it reads in Luke the first chapter 74 verse God rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear. Remember God also told us in Luke 10 and 19 verse I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Remember in God we have hope because in Romans five and five it reads And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. The Lord will sustain us according to His word, that we may live; And do not let us be ashamed of our hope. This can be found in Psalm 119:116

We as Christians have enemies that are superhuman, they are spiritual forces we cannot see with human eyes, that’s why we must take up the whole armor of God, the divine armor and sword of the Spirit which belong to the Lord himself and the Messiah which are made available to us believers. In the next part to stand, Paul betrays Christians as soldiers in the battle line holding fast against enemy’s charge. And this is true we are soldiers in the army of the Lord. This identifies this whole age is evil days, yet the outbreak of the Satanic onslaught against Christ’s people ebbs in flow throughout this era, until the final day when the Lord of hosts will return in power and great glory to rend the heavens and rescue his people forever. Now the next part standing firm, Paul reiterates the charge to stand in the face of dreaded spiritual enemies because the Lord has not left his people defenseless. They have the complete armor of God from head to foot which consist of the belt, breastplate, shoes, shield, helmet and sword. These are metaphors for the spiritual resource given to them by Christ. Namely the truth, righteousness, gospel, faith, salvation and the Word of God. As mentioned these are aspects of God and the Messiah’s own character and work with which Christians are now equipped. An example of this is when the Lord sees no one to deliver his oppressed people, he puts on his own breastplate of righteousness and helmet of salvation before coming in wrath against his enemies. Paul urges the Ephesians to withstand the enemy and not give in to fear. And as a point of reference if any of you are experiencing fear, going through it or have a child going through fear and don’t know how to handle it, always know fear is from the devil. Fear is a spirit bought on by the devil and how do you get rid of fear? You bind and rebuke that fear, you tell the devil I bind and I rebuke this spirit of fear in the name of Jesus and after you say that you back it up with the Word of God you also say for God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power of love and of a sound mind this is found in second Timothy first chapter 7th verse. Hey guys sorry for the delay here's part 6, continuing on from last week: Therefore, take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand the evil day and having done all to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness and shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace and in all circumstances take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Praying at all times with the spirit with prayer and supplication to keep alert with all perseverance making supplication for all the saints. As it states in Ephesians 6 and 10 Paul concludes his exhortations with instructions for all Christians. His imagery is sustained with the trail of the Christian life and spiritual warfare using the Lord’s resources. There are three subsections of the Lord’s strength. Paul introduces the armor of God by focusing on the strength the Lord gives. In the next part being strong, this part is talking about Christians cannot stand on their own against superhuman powers, you must rely upon the strength of the Lord’s own might which he supplies chiefly through prayer. The whole armor is the complete equipment of a fully armed soldier. Consisting of both shields and weapons like those described in verses 14:16 and 17. Paul uses Roman weaponry such as the helmet, breastplate, the doorlike shields and the short swords that were called Gladius as the visible betrayals of God’s armor. Such weaponry can be found on the numerous military reliefs throughout the Roman Empire. In Ephesians 6 chapter 12 verse that says the rulers, authorities and cosmic powers gives a sobering glimpse into the devil’s allies. The spiritual forces of evil who are exceedingly powerful and their exercise of cosmic powers over this present darkness. And yet Scripture makes clear that the enemy host is no match for the Lord who has disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame by triumphing over them. Why does the Bible clearly state that the devil is no match for the Lord? Because he cannot be beaten, he cannot be defeated nor can he be killed, why? Because he is God, our God is great, our God is awesome and he is a warrior, no one can beat him not even the devil. Thanks for stopping by and liking my posts, you guys are awesome! Until next time. |
