Continuing on in Judges 16 chapter and 20th verse, but he did not know that the Lord had left him. And the Philistines seized him and gouge out his eyes and bought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze shackles. And he ground at the mill in the prison but the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaved. Samson had lost his freedom. He was bound in shackles, never able to see the rising of the sun. His strength from God was gone. His future uncertain, his direction no longer having a path and he had no one to love. He was by himself, alone. He had lost it all, reduced to slave labor. He was just an ordinary man now. He was made to go round and round a large grindstone to grind grain for his enemies. This was normally the work of an animal. All hope seemed lost for Samson. Continuing on in Judges 16 and the 23rd verse, now the Lords of the Philistines gathered to offer great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to rejoice and they said, our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand. And when the people saw him, they praised their god. For they said our god has given our enemy into our hand, the ravager of our country who has killed many of us. Now sticking another pan in there, their god Dagon was the fish god. His priests sang praises of the greatness of their fish god or little fish. It had the body of a fish with the hands and head of a man. It was the Philistines god, it might’ve come from Babylon or Nineveh. At this very moment the Philistines think they have won because they captured Samson. Continuing on in Judges 16 chapter and the 25th verse and when their hearts were marry they said call Samson that he may entertain us. So they called Samson out of prison and he entertain them. They made him stand between the pillars and Samson said to the young man who helped him by the hand, let me fill the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean against them. Now the house was full of men and women, all the Lords of the Philistines are there and on the roof there were about 3,000 men and women who looked on while Samson entertain them. Then Samson called to the Lord and said, oh Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me only this once O God that I may be avenged on the Philistines for my two eyes. And Samson grasped the two middle pillars on which the house rested and he leaned his weight against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other. And Samson said with his final words, let me die with Philistines. Then he bowed with all his strength and the house fell upon the Lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life. Thanks guys for stopping by and liking my posts, you guys are AWESOME!!! Until next time.
